Adhiyaman for websites - Tamil Unicode Encoding Converter 1.0

Purpose:

This tool is used for converting the entire website (or a particular directory and its sub directories) which has content based on various Tamil encodings (like TAB/TAM/TSCII) to Unicode Tamil. If you are a web master or owner of a website which is based on various Tamil encodings (like TAB/TAM/TSCII) and would like to convert all your content from TAB/TAM/TSCII to Unicode Tamil, this is the tool for you. This tool need to be uploaded to your website and need to be run from there. This tool will convert the files in your web server. This is not a tool for converting your client side HTML files.

Requirements:

1. Linux based Web hosting server (Windows server is not supported)
2. Apache 2.2 or above (Windows IIS is not supported)
3. PHP 5.0 or above with:
   • File read/write functions enabled
   • The system() function enabled
   • Custom php.ini supported
4. Safe mode turned OFF
5. JavaScript 1.2 enabled web browser with AJAX support
6. Web server user with permission to create directory inside the source directory given below.

Installation:

1. Download the a4web.zip file
2. Upload it to the root directory in your webserver using FTP (You can use File Manager if you have CPanel hosting)
3. Unzip the uploaded a4web.zip
   • You can click "Extract" from File Manager if you have CPanel hosting
   • Similar options are available in other web hosting control panel
   • In case if you do not have extract option, you can unzip the a4web.zip locally and upload the entire a4web directory to the webserver
